<185+1>
Cities tend to remember only the grand names.
But I came to believe that the true breath of the street resides in the small things the things that are easily erased.
Across London, I collected 185 pieces of graffiti. They were quiet, yet powerful, and in each one I sensed its own potential and possibility.
I then placed these traces, through a digital collage, upon the surface of the River Thames a place where they could never be drawn in reality. I also created one graffiti piece of my own, bringing the total to 186 traces. This number is linked to the fact that this year marks 186 years since the invention of photography.
This work is an attempt to call back what is disappearing, and to bring attention to what is often ignored. It visualizes my belief that small and seemingly insignificant things, when gathered together, can create a new voice.

런던 곳곳에서 185개의 그래피티를 모았다. 그들은 조용했지만 강했고, 각자의 자리에서 저마다 각각의 잠재성, 가능성들이 보였다.
이 흔적들을, 현실에선 그릴 수 없는 템즈강 위에 디지털 콜라주 방식으로 띄워 올렸다. 그리고 직접 하나의 그래피티를 그려 186개의 흔적이 되었고, 그 수는 사진이 발명된 지 186년이 된 지금의 해와도 연결된다.
이 작업은 사라지는 것들, 무시되는 존재들을 다시 불러내는 시도다. 작고 보잘것없어 보이는 것들이 모여 새로운 목소리를 만들어낼 수 있다는 믿음을 시각화 해보았다.
